How Creeping Plants Grow

Creepers take a different route to most indoor plants. Instead of climbing upwards or trailing over the edge of a pot, their stems or rhizomes travel horizontally across the growing medium, producing new growth as they go.

Giving a creeper enough horizontal room allows its natural growth habit to develop properly, which is why the shape of the pot can matter just as much as its size. Depending on the species, a wider planter can give those wandering stems somewhere to go without immediately running out of real estate.

Looking for the setup to match? Explore Wide Planter for plants we recommend giving a little more horizontal room. If you're after something that spills over the edge instead, head to Trailer.
